Pryor Baird & The Deacons are a group from California's central coast, playing original as well as traditional blues,roots and americana. . displaying the powerful yet delicate guitar work is Pryor"Big"Baird, who is always on fire and becoming very well known for his awesome slide work and solid vocals.The beat is laid down by the always smooth and steady Curtis"Stix"Miller,showing a style and respect to his drumming that is often forgotten.Rounding out the rythym section is bassist Robert"Dirty Bertie" Chetwood holding down the bottom with sonic proweress to help this band achieve their prized "Fat hollow sound" which is what these cats are known for,and don't forget the brass section featuring Trumpet and Flugelhorn player extrordaire as well as musical director of the band, George"Godfather" Pandis and the sultry Tenor and Alto Saxophone playing of Rene'"The Cat"Blair, this band is a real treat to watch.check 'em out!
